At SonShine Kids, we provide a wide variety of activities for all of the areas that are a part of it, and Shining Kids does just that. We provide activities that enrich large muscle development, small muscle development, social development, emotional development, as well as intellectual development.
Large muscle development activities
- Bikes and scooters
- Basketball
- Kickball
- Kinesthetic Activities (dancing, running, jumping, building, etc)
Small muscle development activities
- Board Games
- Art Time (Designing, drawing, visualizing, doodling, etc)
- Craft Activities
- Legos, puzzles, mazes, etc
Social development activities
- Phonics and Phonemic Awareness (Decoding, spelling, prefixes, suffixes, etc)
- Oral Language (Vocabulary, meanings, similes, metaphors, penmanship, story-telling, debates, etc)
- Comprehension (Reading and understanding, fact and fiction, etc)
- Music Activities (Listening, singing, playing, dancing etc)
- Social Studies Activities
Emotional development activities
- Dramatic Play (Rescue Heroes, GI Joes, dolls, "housekeeping," etc)
- Small household responsibilities (Daily jobs around the daycare.)
- Time to pursue their own interests (Video games, drawing, writing, or whatever they may desire, within reason.)
- Time alone with self-paced activities
Intellectual development activities
- Questions and Answers (Math, science, etc)
- Planning own daily schedule (Each child will be allowed to decide when they do each activity during the time they are at SonShine Kids.)
- Collecting and Organizing (Nature walks, scavenger hunts, etc)
- "Homework" type activities
- Puzzles, manipulatives, and calculating activities
